The military in both our countries enjoys the deep respect of our citizens for the role they play in keeping our countries safe and secure. We remain grateful for the support the Mexican army offered New Orleans evacuees after Hurricane Katrina 2004. Today we look to deepen our military-to-military cooperation in the event of new natural disasters, pandemic disease or other transnational challenges that could impact both our nations.

Frequent military visits and exchanges lay the foundation for sharing information and building relationships essential to efficient responses in a time of emergency.
