As part of the Foundation’s mission to educate the public about the Foreign Service, the Cox Foundation has developed and been a part of a number of media initiatives to give public audiences an inside look into what diplomacy is and what it looks like on the ground, straight from the diplomats and US agency officials that serve on behalf of the American public.

Diverse Diplomacy Leaders Speaker Series”is a video series produced by the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy that seeks to showcase the diverse representation of foreign policy professionals, across generational, gender, religious, and ethnic lines. This series seeks to encourage aspirants from diverse communities to pursue and successfully navigate foreign policy careers.
The Modern American Diplomacy Podcast, produced by ADST and supported by the Foundation, provides in-depth stories and personal experiences to the listening public about the lessons inner workings of modern American diplomacy. This podcast seeks to give listeners a better understanding of foreign policy and their accomplishments through their roster of guests, ranging from established diplomatic leaders to up incoming experts.
American Diplomat: Real Stories Behind the News”, also produced by AAD, provides informative entertainment to the listening public from our nations’ diplomatic practitioners. The conversations with this elite cadre of career diplomats give the listener a better understanding of the very human dimensions of those serving on the front lines of war, crises, and conflict around the world.
In the Media Highlight: American Foreign Service Association
Architects of Peace: The U.S. Foreign Service at 100
The Cox Foundation supported the American Foreign Service Association in their production of Architects of Peace: The U.S. Foreign Service at 100, a video message honoring the men and women of the Foreign Service.
This video serves as one of multiple components of AFSA’s efforts to create a public outreach campaign centered around the centennial of the Foreign Service that focuses on its impact over the last 100 years.
In the Media Highlight: Diplomacy Center Foundation
The Cox Foundation currently supports the Diplomacy Center Foundation, in support of the National Museum of American Diplomacy, in their production of Bringing U.S. Diplomacy and Diplomatic into the Classroom. This program aims to educate and share knowledge about the State Department and the Foreign Service.
